GOLD RUSH! JULY EVENTS RAISE MORE THAN $18K TO BENEFIT SEMINOLE 2.0! - Member Email: Tuesday, August 1, 2023
Hello Seminole Members,
The totals are in, and we are thrilled to announce that our July fund-raising events raised $18,420 to benefit Seminole 2.0!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Swim-a-Thon, Glow Night, Shark Wars and Coaches Water Balloon Bash and donated money to support our pool of the future.
Swim-a-Thon
Swim-a-Thon participants raised $8,650. Add in the matching grants of $5,000 (courtesy of Dr. and Mrs. Douglas F. Soltys) and $1,000 and the total raised reached $14,650.
A special thank you to Genna Zenner for her work planning, promoting and organizing the event!
Our 8-and-under swimmers raised the most money by age group. They got to cover their coaches in shaving cream last week as a reward for being the top fund-raisers. The top fund-raisers in each age group were also awarded prize baskets:
8 and under — Baylor and Harper Kohls Family ($1,055); Clara Groose ($1,053)
9-10 -- Abby Thompson ($300)
11-12 -- Zoey Thompson($300)
13 and up -- Elsa Lorson ($200)
Shark Wars
Our Swim and Dive team waged an age group “penny war” or what is better known as the Shark Wars from July 10-17. This friendly competition raised $2,000 toward Seminole 2.0, with our 13 & ups raising more than $500 of that total on July 17 alone! The 13 & up age group won the Wars and the reward of painting Coach Andrew and Coach Sam as part of their All City banner.
Glow Night
The Swim & Dive Team hosted the annual Glow Night on July 19 for pool members, and together we raised over $1,000! Thank you to everyone who attended, the parent volunteers, Seminole Board, and Swim & Dive Team Boosters. It was a fun night filled with music, dancing, food, and friends! We can't wait until next year's Glow Night!
At the annual Swim Team pasta party we also raised $770 from the Coaches Water Balloon Bash.
What an awesome Seminole Community we have! Watch for information in your email on Seminole 2.0 events in August. For more information on Seminole 2.0, visit Seminole 26-5.org.
